After thinking I&#8217;d have to do a release in several stages I ended up replacing a lot of old code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kernel audit now reports <strong>75% new code<\/strong>. Inspection of the remaining legacy code shows that the rest should be particularly easy to replace.
